The Society for Mathematical Psychology promotes the advancement and communication of research in mathematical psychology and related disciplines. Mathematical psychology is broadly defined to include work of a theoretical character that uses mathematical methods, formal logic, or computer simulation. The Society journal is the Journal of Mathematical Psychology.

REU at Vanderbilt

The Categorization Laboratory at Vanderbilt is looking for outstanding students interested in a Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) this summer, 2016. This project will use online behavioral experiments to understand the temporal dynamics of perceptual expertise in categorization for real-world domains.

Postdoctoral Fellowship in Cognitive and Neural Modeling of Visual Cognition

We are eagerly seeking postdoctoral fellows to join NIH- and NSF-funded projects developing and testing cognitive and neural models of visual cognition at Vanderbilt University. Start date is negotiable, but preference will be given to candidates who can begin within six months. Candidates should have demonstrated skills in computer programming and statistical analyses; some background in computational modeling is strongly desired, some knowledge of Bayesian approaches is also desired.
