The Society for Mathematical Psychology promotes the advancement and communication of research in mathematical psychology and related disciplines. Mathematical psychology is broadly defined to include work of a theoretical character that uses mathematical methods, formal logic, or computer simulation. The official journals of the society are Journal of Mathematical Psychology and Computational Brain & Behavior.

Australasion Mathematical Psychology (AMP) Conference

This is a preliminary announcement for the next Australasian Mathematical Psychology (AMP) Conference, which will be held in:

Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

February 18-20, 2011

The conference will run on Friday and Saturday (18 & 19 February) and will be followed by a day of free workshops sponsored by The University of Melbourne’s Neurosciences and Behavioral Sciences  research domain on Sunday (20 February).  The topic of the workshops and presenters will be announced shortly.

The conference will take place at the University of Melbourne, accommodation will be available at a special conference rate of A$139/night for a double room at the Ibis Hotel (details below). There are several alternative options for accommodation in addition to the conference hotel, most within walking distance, that suit a range budgets, including backpacker hostels (Global Backpackers). There will be a conference dinner on the 19th (Saturday).

AMPC2011 promises to have many interesting talks from local and international experts, so please join us in Melbourne next February.

Registration costs are $99 (full) or $49 (students), which will include morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea on both conference days and the workshop day. Registration will open shortly, and the deadline for submission of abstracts is January 15, 2011.
