Mathematical Psychology 2011 Conference

The 44th Annual Meeting of the Society for Mathematical Psychology (SMP) will take place on the Medford, Massachusetts Campus of Tufts University, which is in the greater Boston area. The preconference meeting of women mathematical psychologists and the conference welcome reception will be held on July 15, 2011. The conference will run from July 16 to July 18 (no half days as in some previous years). There will be one plenary speaker for each day of the conference. On Tuesday July 19 there will be a full day workshop on the building, fitting, and interpreting multinomial processing tree models from a diverse set of perspectives. The workshop will be taught by William Batchelder, Richard Chechile, and Xiangen Hu. Registration for the workshop is separate from the registration for the conference, so it is possible to register for just the workshop or just the conference. The Cognitive Science Society meeting begins on July 20 in nearby Boston.

The conference website is now available at:

Bayesian Modeling for Cognitive Science, A WinBUGS Workshop

This workshop is meant for researchers who want to learn how to apply Bayesian inference in practice. Most applications we discuss are taken from the field of cognitive science. Because the workshop is based on a set of book chapters and concrete exercises of varying difficulty, the course material is appropriate for researchers with a wide range of prior knowledge and interests.

The workshop will take place August 22 - August 26 2011 at the University of Amsterdam, Roetersstraat 15, 1018 WB, Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
